"THE INTERNET IS A GIFT AND A CURSE"- OKYEAME KWAME

The museum tree planting exercise which took off yesterday at the Pomadze Hills, near Winneba junction is a site that is been created to enhance the ability of tree planting, the planting of seedling and generally forestry; in order to improve on the Pan African Heritage Museum. The occasion was graced by dignitaries and some stars. They include, Kojo Yankah; founder of African University College of Communications, Cheddar and Okyeame Kwame; the Musician.

With this, I got into contact with Okyeame Kwame the father of two children, the hip-life artiste and the Pan- African. Who is just not Pan- African for title sake. But he has contributed through his platforms to promote the course of Africa.

Okyeame Kwame whom I interviewed, says ‘The Internet Is a Gift and a Curse’. Where he meant that, the internet had done good things as well as bad things in terms of music. He justified his point by saying that  before the coming of the internet, income generation on music was quite high. In which the sale of CD’s can fetch you enough income and not to talk of you being invited to programs to display your talents there as well.

However, the coming of the internet has made it easier for music to reach customers at forefront. In a sense that, it has made it easier for music to be accessible in due time through channels like the itunes, instagram, facebook, twitter and the world at large.

In short, the tree planting exercise brought an enlightenment on how valuable vegetation is and we being able to protect and promote our heritage and making sure that Pan-Africanist like Okyeame Kwame get more and more interested in contributing more and more of their efforts to keep our heritage blooming.
